Lac Lovering Scout Reserve
Learn and attain official certification of Paddle Canada’s “Lake Canoe Skills Introduction, Tandem” course!
Novice paddlers are introduced to paddling with a partner in sheltered calm waters and basic land and water rescue techniques. Two recognized and certified Paddle Canada instructors from Voyageur Council are offering to train and certify up to 20 Quebec Council Scouters in October 4-6 at Lac Lovering Scout Reserve, Magog. Scouters will need to prepare a canoe tripping first aid kit (supply list will be provided upon registration). Friday evening’s training will include Scouts Canada requirements, forms, and regulations associated canoeing and canoe tripping with youth, associated Wilderness First Aid Skills, and rescue and transport knots and techniques. On-water canoe training is provided all day Saturday, and Sunday until 3pm, when the course ends.

Scouters will need to bring their own life jacket. Registration costs will be 30.00 a participant, which includes Saturday lunch, Saturday community supper and Sunday lunch. Scouters are responsible for their own meals Friday evening, Sat morning, Sunday morning.
This is a family camp, scouters may bring their families, however, we are sharing the camp with the Greenfield Park and Candiac Cub packs.
Registration is limited to 20 participants, and is on a first come first serve basis.
