Date(s) - June 21,2019 - June 23,2019
6:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Lac Lovering Scout Reserve
Compétences Plein Air (CPA) canoë niveaux 1 – 4
Have you ever wanted to learn or practice canoeing but you don’t want to leave your family on the weekend to go to a training event? Why don’t you bring them with you! Celebrate the last day of the children’s school year with a family camping event and go canoeing at the same time. You can arrive to set up your family’s tent any time after 6:00pm on Friday, June 21.
Scouter’s children can either canoe with them and work on their own OAS Paddling Skills, or play at the Scout Reserve, monitored by a non-paddling friend or partner. We will cover everything from OAS Paddling Skills 1-3 inclusive, and almost all of OAS 4. If you already are a great paddler, please consider coming to help mentor other Scouters. If the water is warm enough, we will also cover OAS Aquatic Skills levels 1-3, inclusive.
Families must pay $40 to cover the price of adults camping on the Scout Reserve. We also hope to provide one group meal for Saturday night’s supper. Bring your own tents, any gear and games you usually take family camping, and come paddle and play with us. Each participant must bring their own lifejacket and waterproof safety whistle. Each family is asked to bring their own throw bag or 50-ft floating rope, and a bailler (a juice jug with a handle works just fine).
